Tips for understanding the game

check the stats page of each guy to find out his "Liked trait" - this will increase the amount of hearts you receive each time you interact with him.

Hearts per talk action:
Level 0: 50 hearts
Level 2: 51 hearts
Level 3: 61 hearts
Level 4: 75 hearts
Level 5: 100 hearts
Level 6: 141 hearts
Level 7: 210 hearts
Level 8: 321 hearts
Level 9: 502 hearts
Level 10: 790 hearts
Level 11: 1,249 hearts
Level 12: 1,975 hearts
Level 13: 3,119 hearts
Level 14: 4,920 hearts
Level 15: 7,745 hearts

For example, Nimh's liked trait is "Smart," so if you have Smart at level 0, every time you talk to him you will receive 50 hearts. When you level Smart up to 1, you will receive ___ hearts with every interaction, and so forth. Later on, each level increase grants a much larger bonus to hearts, so it is far more worth it to wait for a hobby to level up than it is to simply grind out the heart meter by repeatedly clicking on the interact button.
